A little change

Ronnie got me a new bedspread for Christmas. I've been wanting a little bit of a change for our bedroom. I love what I had before but after a few years its nice to have a little change. I'm a bit bummed because I didn't take any pictures before I changed the room around. O well. But I do have some pictures from when we first moved in.

It was a baby blue color and all the light fixtures screamed 80s. It was pretty dirty with cat hair too. Nasty.

With new light fixtures, paint and some TLC it was looking quite a bit better.

Now with my new updates... I always feel like it looks better in person...

Anyways, just a little update :)

Christmas in Williamsburg

Ronnie and I went back to Williamsburg to see all the pretty Christmas decorations and to see some things we didn't have time to see while his parents were in town. Our passes expire at the end of the year and it was a beautiful sunny day so we took the opportunity to go!

Governor's Palace

The maze in Governor's Palace gardens

There was a little market and garden.

 I loved their mini greenhouses.

I love all the wreaths in Williamsburg. They are so pretty!!
They are made with fruits and other fresh things.

We stayed for the illumination of the palace green. That was pretty cool! They had the revolutionary band with drums (which are my favorite) and torches. They would say "The Governor's Palace" or the name of the house and shoot their muskets and then light the fires in front of the house until the whole street was lit up. So fun.

Excited for Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

We are excited for Christmas this year and will be spending it here at home. I've had Christmas music playing at work all month and I was good about getting our shopping done early this year even though work has been super busy. So its been easier to feel the Christmas spirit instead of the Christmas stress :) Although, it's crazy its already Christmas....My mind is still stuck in September!

What are you doing for Christmas?

During the Christmas season it always seems that having family around is so important and we are very grateful for our families. We are still hoping to expand our family by adoption and make Christmas time more fun with little ones around. So spread the word! We truly appreciate it!

A Thanksgiving Trip

For Thanksgiving my parents, Ronnie and I took a trip to visit my brother and his wife in Kansas City, KS. We decided to drive and it was a 20 something hour drive. The drive went very smooth and we were very happy about that! I tend to have bad luck in Beckley, WV but we drove right on through and nothing happen. I'm pretty sure that was a first!

We had such a good time and it was so good to see Cory and Chelsea and their cute home.

On Thanksgiving we visited some church sites in the morning and then came
back to prepare and eat dinner.

During our time there we visited the art museum in Kansas City and did quite a bit of shopping!

It was nice to get out and do something different and to spend time with my whole family.

Williamsburg

Ronnie and I took his parents to Williamsburg...back in October when they were visiting. It was rainy and pretty chilly that day but we still had a good time. Plus they had very yummy hot cider to keep me warm :)

Ronnie and I are planning on going back while they have the Christmas decorations up.
If you've never been to Colonial Williamsburg...take the time to go! I've been a millions times but this was Ronnie and his parent's first time going.

Election

I love what my cousin has to say about the current election...I love her attitude :)

http://annaapricot.blogspot.com/2012/11/election.html

I hate it when people feel like life is over because of the out come of an election. Guess what, you're still alive! The sun has still risen! No need to cry or threaten to take your own life or move to Canada.

I'm tired of having to block people on facebook because of their constant rants! Haha.

That is all.

Pinterest Recipe Reviews - Desert Edition

I've tried quite a few recipes from Pinterest and I thought I would do a quick review of them for you (if anyone is actually reading this :)) and for me so I can remember which ones I've tried and should make again.

I'll just stick with deserts for this post or else it could get really long and I'll spare you....

Unfortunately, I don't have any of my own pictures so I'll just use the ones from the link with the recipe.

Pinned ImageThese are claimed to be the best peanut butter chocolate chip cookies....and I think they are pretty darn good but I'm a sucker for peanut butter. The only thing is I feel like they get dry quickly, but it makes a small batch so if you have more then a couple people in your house they'll go fast so they won't be sitting around to get dry.

Alright, so this recipe was a bit of a disaster for me. One of the comments on the recipe said that it kind of sinks in the middle so put it upside down (like you would a regular angel food cake) but this did not work for me...it fell out...on to the counter. We still tried it and I made fresh whipped cream to go on top. It was okay but I don't think I'll make this one again.

I literally just made these. The recipe is pretty easy to make and if you like nutella this might be a good recipe for you. I love peanut butter cookies and I had some nutella I needed to use so I thought I'd give them a shot. I used the top of a water bottle to make the hole to put the nutella in. These are pretty intense and you get that feeling that it might stick in your throat...definitely keep a drink near by when eating these. The flavor is delish though. Not sure if I'd make these again but  they were fun to make once. Also, I did have to bake them a little longer  than it said and letting them sit a minute before making the hole for the nutella helps too. http://delightfulbitefuls.blogspot.ca/2011/02/peanut-butter-nutella-cookie-cups.html

These "s'more cookies" were soooo yummy...soo bad but sooo yummy. They are super easy to make too. The one thing I want to remember when I make these again (because I will) is that the 1.5 cups of marshmallow fluff is the whole jar....measuring that stuff out is a pain in the rear.

I went to the link I used to make these oatmeal cream pies and the recipe is GONE!!!! It links to a different kind of oatmeal pie. I just made this recipe 2 weeks ago so I know if was there! I will have to find the recipe again because these were delish! I found a similar recipe for oatmeal pies but its not the one I made so I can't tell you how this one turns out. The picture I have is from the recipe that I actually made not the link below. Man I'm bummed....that's what I get for not printing the recipe. Ronnie says these were his favorite of all the Pinterest desert recipes I've made.

Well that's it for now. Let me know if you like this kind of blog post and maybe I'll do one for regular food :) Also, let me know if you've made any of these before and what you thought!

Pumpkin Patch

Ronnie's parents are in town and on Saturday we took them to help us pick
out some pumpkins at the pumpkin patch.

We picked three nice pumpkins which I'm sure you'll see in the future when we carve them :)
