Nine Months!

On Christmas Eve, Mina turned Nine Months!

This Month Mina...

Has two more teeth (6 in total). Her two top ones came in.

Still really busy and likes standing and can push a walker a couple steps

Had fun with her twin cousin Teddy when they visited for Christmas

Likes to get into everything and put everything in her mouth!

Doesn't like when you close a door...she wants free range.

Likes pushing things around when she is crawling...like trucks or anything else you can push

Good at eating regular food.

She is still as squishy and lovable as ever!

Stats from 9 month appointment on January 5th

17 lbs 4 oz (32nd percentile)

69.6 cm  or 27.4 inches (30th percentile)

43 cm (head circum.)

Christmas trees and Santa Claus

When we got back from Kansas, we had to go get our Christmas tree!

Every year our neighborhood has a Christmas tree lighting and Santa comes. There is face painting and cookies and a carriage ride. 

Leo told Santa he wanted 3 monster trucks....Mina couldn't get enough of his beard.

Leo is starting to catch on about what's going on and what Christmas is. It's fun to see how excited he gets and we're having fun doing all the festive things with him. We're also excited it's Mina's first Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2016

For Thanksgiving this year, we took a trip to Kansas to visit Ronnie's family. It was Mina's first trip there to meet all the relatives. 

Leo loved the old trampoline.

 We took a trip to Grandma Pettigrew's house. Leo wanted to explore the farm. He saw lots of cows who were "rude" because they wouldn't let him pet them. He saw a barn owl and a possum.

We went to lunch at an old mill and Leo was more interested in exploring outdoors. 

He loves to be outside!

 

 We also went on a horse drawn carriage and some little shops.

More cousin time

 We also took a trip to the Wichita zoo. Leo's favorite is always the elephants and they had 7!

While there we left Leo to play with his grandparents and we went to California to finalize Mina's adoption.

So glad she is officially ours!

We had a good trip with lots of traveling! We're glad we got to go but also glad to be home!

Mina is EIGHT months!

8 Months!

Mina is growing up fast!

This month:

She turned 8 months on Thanksgiving and spent it in Kansas

We weighed her on Thanksgiving and she weighs approx. 17lbs

Met all her Slaven cousins, aunts uncles and many other relatives who doted on her

She crawls fast and can pull herself up

Has four teeth...her two bottom and her top fangs (check out the swing pic below)

Is back to pretty much sleeping through the night

Really good at spying her bottle when I try to hide it....like on the plane when I'm trying to wait for take off. She doesn't like to wait for food...

She is busy!

Halloween 2016

We had a lot of fun this Halloween. Leo was so excited to wear his dinosaur costume (which he picked out about a month and a half before) and to say trick or treat! On Halloween we went trick or treating around our neighborhood. Leo was getting tired and wanted me to hold him and I asked if he wanted to go home...he said no I need more trick or treats. He was determined.  He had so much fun looking through his candy. His favorite are whoppers or as he calls them "boulders" which he some how remembers from his 1st birthday (when I did a construction themed birthday).

The Saturday night before Halloween we went to our church's yearly trunk or treat. 

We obviously had a theme ;)

Mina is 7 Months!

My baby girl is 7 months! She is just getting cuter and chubbier every day!

This Month Mina...

Started crawling

Has two teeth peeking out of her gums

She's hungry! Which has caused my good sleeper to start waking up at night lately! 

She kind of sings to herself and is miss chatty

She sits with her brother in the grocery cart

She beats her tummy with both fists like a gorilla

She is still a happy baby!

Her favorite song always has been and still is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC Song (its the same tune). If she's upset she immediately listens to you when you start singing. She especially loves it when her brother sings it to her.

She's a mama's girl. 

Saturday

Saturday we spent the day working at our lot. One of Ronnie's client's brought over his excavator and pulled out stumps and took down some spindly trees and picked up the brush pile I was planning on spending all day working on in a second.A lot accomplished and didn't even break a sweat ;) My dad helped us put the silt fence up so we're getting really close to actually starting our house! Woot woot.

Leo was pretty much in heaven watching all the machinery!

 A few days prior we had to go let Leo check out the excavator.

Leo visits the dentist

Leo has been to the dentist a couple times but would NEVER let anyone look in his mouth much less clean and check his teeth. We are doing a little co-op preschool where each mom takes a turn to teach and it has been my turn to teach. We went on a little field trip with my mom to the dentist office (she is a dental hygienist). The next day my mom had an opening so she asked if Leo would come in to get his teeth cleaned. He actually let her clean and check his teeth and was so incredibly good. I was/am so proud of him! He even let the dentist check his teeth and for being so good he was able to get to prizes, which of course he picked to monster trucks.

 He was being so cute with his sister too...giving her loves and tickles.

 It kills me how much they love each other!
