Pit bulls and bull riding

I have become that person....that person who thinks their puppy is the cutest and everyone should have the pleasure of seeing lots of pictures of her. :) She is growing very fast!

One Saturday night Ronnie and I went to a PBR event. Ronnie and I have been trying to be more creative with date night....

You may be wondering what my puppy and bull riding are doing in the same post...well did you know way back in the day pit bulls were used to calm down crazy bulls by latching on to their noses and holding on until they calmed down. Thankfully, they are not used for that purpose anymore!
It is interesting the misconceptions that people have about pit bulls. My Piper is a pit mix and I get some interesting reactions when I tell people what breed she is. Like 'aren't you afraid she'll tear of your face' or 'well they can be good dogs if they are mixed' or 'oh'. Well did you know that up until the '80s pit bulls were known as "the American dog". They were often seen with little kids (think Little Rascals). It is all about how we humans train and teach these dogs. If you train the dog to be a fighting drug lord dog, then that's what you're going to get. Growing up we had a pit mix and he was the best dog! He loved little kids and let them pull on his ears and tail and he was happy go lucky. So when you go to the SPCA or the pound don't pass up that cute pit!

I bet that PBR event was fun! I went to a rodeo once, but it didn't have enough bull riding! A PBR event would definitely give me my fill ;)
Piper is a doll baby....I was actually going to text and see how she was yesterday. Glad I waited for the pictures!
