Meet Piper

This is Piper. She is cute.

Ronnie and I somehow happened to go to the SPCA on Saturday.
We saw this extremely cute puppy and I wanted to take her home then but Ronnie said we should think about it and then if she is still there on Monday I can get her. So I went on Monday and she was there still! She needed to be spayed so she came home with us yesterday (Tuesday).

In the last 24 hours we've found out that Piper...
Poops and pees a lot...I mean how is it possible!
She likes to bite everything (including my hair....it hurts)
She is EXTREMELY playful, hyper, cra-zay, rambunctious, etc.
She follows me everywhere. If she can't see me, she whines...
She snores.
 She is really cute.

She is 8 weeks old and is some sort of Pit bull mix (possibly retriever?).
Here is a little video for your viewing pleasure. :)

Does anyone have little puppy advice? I'll take it!

Very cute puppy! You can tell she loves you already! I'm sure April and Jenna would much good advice to give on raising a puppy. :)

Remember, TRAINING is your best friend for wearing a smart puppy out. 15 minutes a day. The easiest way to do it is simply growl (say "bah" with a growl in your voice) at her when she gets it wrong and say "good sit/stay/ball (whatever)!!" when she gets it right. Her mama growled at her (not bite, mind you) when she did something wrong; like peeing in the family nest, as a younger puppy. This is the language she understands; growls and high pitched "yips" for happiness/praise. Never punish for something you didn't see happen and keep her with you at all times unless she's in the crate. Eventually, as you expand the crate from the actual crate to the kitchen, the living room, and then the bedrooms, she'll treat the whole house like her crate. Meaning, she'll treat it like her own bed and not destroy it.
For walking, if she tries to walk ahead of you, turn in the opposite direction with a quick growl. When she heels by you, say GOOD HEEL!!! She will learn quickly and you probably won't need a choke/pinch color if you do this now. 15 minutes of consistent training a day will produce a healthy, but tired dog. Which means everyone sleeps better and less of the house gets chewed up.
Call me if you need more!
SHE IS BEAUTIFUL! So cute!!!!
