4.5 months

I know you are just itching to see MORE pictures of my puppy. I mean I know you just haven't seen enough...so here are two more. Really I just want to mark how much she has grown! Since we got Piper she has grown at least 25 lbs, if not more, in the 2.5 months we have had her. She was 10 lbs when we got her and now she is at least 35 (could be more!).

I'll just throw in a video for good measure.
(Just put it on mute so you don't have to hear my voice...eek!)

Locks Point Park

We spent the afternoon at the park. It was nice out and Piper was enjoying exploring.

Now here are a bunch of pictures :)

It was a great visit to the park. Then we got in the car and I shut Piper's tail in the door. Ugh...I still feel so horrible. She is fine though...thankfully!!

Mid-day Terror

So my mom called me up and we went to lunch. I decided to put Piper in the kitchen with the gate up (which I've done before) with the back door open (since it was a beautiful day) so she could go in and out as she pleased but not destroy my living area (aka couch and pillows). We were only going to be gone for an hour or less to eat some delish Panera. Well...we walked back into the house after lunch and....

Piper jumped off the love seat/chair thingy (where she is not aloud) and ran to us like nothing happened. I mean what the heck!?!?!

I couldn't find a "before" picture but basically there WERE two shelves with stuff on them. I also had a candle that had been burning before we left, therefore wax was all over everything! I think the only worse thing than spilt wax is may be paint...even then....

How does my dog pull down shelves off the wall. I mean she is a puppy. I don't even know how she would have gotten on the desk. The chair was still pushed in, etc. It blows my mind.

The damage....spilt wax on documents and everything else, broken frame, broken letter S, dented desk and shelves, etc., etc. Luckily, some items that should have broke, didn't.

Not to mention, she can now jump my baby gate. Poop.

I may shed a tear.

Beautiful Saturday

We went to the temple Saturday and the tulips were gorgeous!! My parents were kind enough to watch Piper for us (she can only stay her crate 3-4 hours at a time right now). After the temple we did our usual Café Rio run. So delish and then headed home in the traffic. We picked up Piper on the way home and she had a nice warm surprise for me in the car....that's right .... she peed in my lap. It was a perfect day...minus the pee. I could have done without that.

P.S. I'm not wearing tights.

Easter Weekend

On Saturday, we took Piper to the beach for the first time. She was so fun! She was a little scared of the water which was kinda funny.

On Easter my mom got Piper some bunny ears...(Ronnie is going to kill me...haha)

We attempted to get an Easter family picture but Piper had other plans.

Piper was able to take full advantage of her digging skills in the soft sand.

Pit bulls and bull riding

I have become that person....that person who thinks their puppy is the cutest and everyone should have the pleasure of seeing lots of pictures of her. :) She is growing very fast!

A Sunday afternoon.....

Napping

One Saturday night Ronnie and I went to a PBR event. Ronnie and I have been trying to be more creative with date night....

You may be wondering what my puppy and bull riding are doing in the same post...well did you know way back in the day pit bulls were used to calm down crazy bulls by latching on to their noses and holding on until they calmed down. Thankfully, they are not used for that purpose anymore!
It is interesting the misconceptions that people have about pit bulls. My Piper is a pit mix and I get some interesting reactions when I tell people what breed she is. Like 'aren't you afraid she'll tear of your face' or 'well they can be good dogs if they are mixed' or 'oh'. Well did you know that up until the '80s pit bulls were known as "the American dog". They were often seen with little kids (think Little Rascals). It is all about how we humans train and teach these dogs. If you train the dog to be a fighting drug lord dog, then that's what you're going to get. Growing up we had a pit mix and he was the best dog! He loved little kids and let them pull on his ears and tail and he was happy go lucky. So when you go to the SPCA or the pound don't pass up that cute pit!

If you're interested in knowing more...here is a good article to start you off :)

Weekend in Review

This weekend Ronnie took over getting up with Piper...man I was tired. She wears me out! Good thing she is super cute and cuddly (sometimes...when she is not biting everything haha).
She had her first bath. She did so good!

Ronnie stayed with Piper on Friday night and I went to a RS beach retreat in Nags Head.

Just another weekend at the Slaven home.
