Thursday Bizzareness

We are currently looking for a new paralegal at Ronnie's law firm. It has been quite the challenge. We posted a listing on craigslist and have conducted a few interviews. We thought we had the perfect candidate. She had worked for an attorney for several years that Ronnie knows as a good attorney but she had to suddenly quit due to her husband's death in the military. Now she is looking to start up again as a paralegal. She had worked for this previous attorney for 8 years or so and he was like a father to her. She worked as his office manger/paralegal. It seemed like she would be a good fit so we were going to offer her the position.

Or so we thought....

Ronnie happens to be working with her previous employer on a case and asked him about our potential candidate. The attorney said he did not know who this person was. His wife had been his office manager before he started working for a new firm. He thought maybe he didn't remember right so he said he would ask his wife and call Ronnie back. About 30 minutes later he called Ronnie and said that his wife also did not remember this woman. He keeps up with his previous paralegals, some working for him as far back as 1991.....

So word for the wise...when hiring off of craigslist, always check references! haha.

We have been looking in our toyota highlander handbook tonight and found a couple funny phrases....looks like they need to get a better proof reader.

"Cross rail adjustment - make sure the cross rails are locked securely by pushing forward and rearward them."

"It is not designed for cornering at the same speeds as ordinary passenger cars anymore than low-slung sports cars designed to perform satisfactorily under off-road conditions."

Anyways, hope everyone is having a good week!

Before and After

Before

After

Ronnie's car is officially dead. We had someone tow it away this morning. On Memorial Day we bought our new (to us) car and we picked it up today. We're excited for the new addition! It just so happens that I had been wanting this exact car for a while...like since we got married. We orignally had our eye on another car but then we went to see this one and it just worked out that we got it. I guess good things come to those who wait. Now lets just hope this works for other aspects of our lives. Like kids....we got the car...now comes little peeps to fill it...right?!?!? I hope so!

P.S. Excuse the gloomy pics. It's been raining ALL day!

The Beginnings

It's been so rainy lately. In fact yesterday I was caught in a torrential down pour without an umbrella on my way to my car from the court building. But all the rain has been doing my garden good.

I have 3 zucchinis already growing!

 Do you see the tomato?

Of course my lemon tree...

My blueberries are ripening. Hopefully I can get them before
the birds do!

A Special Weekend

This past Sunday we had an apostle from our church come to our stake and speak to us. We were also lucky enough to eat lunch with him afterwards. It was definitely a special experience!!

Learn more here http://www.mormon.org/ or http://www.lds.org/.

Also, I thought I'd put a couple pics of my garden up.

Below we have zucchini, tomato, basil, verbena  and our lemon tree.

Here we have our blueberry bushes, 2 tomato plants, 4 green pepper,
2 jalapeno, lettuce, spinach and radishes..and some flowers.

Hopefully this year brings some produce :)

Have you planted your garden?
